Rakshabandhan is a celebration of an enduring bond of adoration between brother and sister.
On this auspicious day, a sister ties a beautiful Rakhi around her brother’s wrist which signifies the sister’s love, and the long-cherished longing for his brother. In return, the brother gives blessings and also gives some gift to his sister as a token of affection.
These days, multifarious rakhis are available for sale in the market, but it is not safe to go and do some shopping in this pandemic state, infect should not even step out! Why put yourself and your people in menace.
Undoubtedly, stay home, stay safe is the basic mantra of this time.
We, the humans, seek happiness in sorrow too, and this is our strength as well, so why not make this festival delightful in this implausible condition too.
And uncommonly, make some precious threads for your brother at home with your own hands. It would be an offbeat joy to fasten a rakhi to your brother, that crafted by you only.
The warmth and ecstasy of those “DIY handmade rakhis” would be indescribable.

STARFISH RAKHI

What You Need:
- Foam sheets
- Fabric glue
- Satin Ribbon
- Googly eyes
- Mix beads
So first, cut a star-shaped piece from the foam sheet. Paste two googly eyes with the help of the fabric glue. Cut a shape of smiley lips from a red foam sheet and paste it on the star.

Grab some beads, and paste them on the every edge of the star with fabric glue. Then cut a small bow-shaped piece from any colorful paper sheet and paste it on the top of the eyes.
Also, glue a golden bead or sequin to complete this bow. For making its string, cut a small circle- shaped piece of a paper, and paste it at the center of the ribbon.
Again apply some glue on this circle, and past the star piece to this circle. So your starfish rakhi is ready to tie.

SILVER COIN RAKHI

What you need:
- Silver Coin
- Ribbon
- Fabric glue
- Paper sheet
- Sticker Stone Flowers
This is very easy to make rakhi and to articulate this, you need a silver coin.
Firstly, grab a ribbon and paste a small paper piece on the center of the ribbon, then apply some fabric glue on one side of the coin and paste it to the paper piece firmly.

After pasting the coin, glue two sticker stone flowers to both sides of the coin. In the end, here we are with our antique silver embedded rakhi.

CAR RAKHI

What you need:
- Foam Sheets
- Popsicle Stick
- Fabric Glue
- Beads
- Ribbon
- Paper Sheet
First, take a green color foam sheet (or color of your choice) and cut it into a semi-circle shaped piece, then take one popsicle stick and apply some fabric glue on it, paste this stick on the green semi-circled piece.
Similarly, cut one more small semi-circle from a red foam sheet and cut it into two equal pieces and paste them on the green piece to give a ‘car’s window look’.

After pasting them, cut two small circles from a black foam sheet to make its wheels, and paste them onto the popsicle stick.
For fastener, take a ribbon piece and paste a small rectangle piece of a plain paper at the center of the ribbon. And after sticking it, paste the car on it to complete it.
Now to enhance it, paste one bead on each wheel. So… your car rakhi is ready to have a ride on it. 🙂

JUTE FLOWER RAKHI

What do you need:
- Jute Roll
- Paper Sheet
- Paper Rope Thread (or string of your choice)
- Fabric Glue
- Pom Pom Balls
- Artificial Flowers
For this beautiful flower rakhi, just cut a jute piece of 5×5 cm in size. First, paste the thread to the backside of the jute piece and, stick one paper strip on it to give the support to the design.

After that apply fabric glue on top of the jute piece in a circle shape and keep pasting pom pom balls on it to create a flower design like the above picture.
Then paste one artificial flower to the center of the pom pom circle. Let it dry for a while and your elegant flower rakhi is ready to beautify your festival.

CRAYONS RAKHI

What do you need:
- Foam Sheet
- White paper
- Basic Crayons
- Fabric Glue
- Cotton
- 3D Outliner (or any sparkle glue)
- Ribbon
This colorful rakhi is my favorite, and for designing it you need to cut a foam sheet piece of the size of 5×6 cm. Then draw five lines with fabric glue and paste your favorite colors from the crayons packet.
Now, this is important…that you need to paste each crayon higher than an earlier crayon, like the below image. I tried to give a VIBGYOR effect to my rakhi and you can choose your style.

Now, paste a ribbon at the backside of the foam sheet and cover it with a small square piece of a plain paper, as we did in our above rakhi tutorials.
After that, cut a cloud- shaped piece from a white paper and paste it on the top of the crayons. To give a cloud and rain effect, you need to stick some simple cotton on this cloud piece and decorate it with 3D outliner or any sparkle glue.
Leave it for a few hours as this sparkle takes time to get dry. At last, your rainbow and clouds are set to flaunt.
