EASY 3-IN-1 DIY FASHION ACCESSORY | BAND WITH OLD BUTTONS AND JEANS

I love to do something mesmeric and unusual with my old stuff. And this time, with old jeans and few old buttons. I tried a 3-IN-1 fashion accessory and made it in no time with some old stuff like…crochet button, sweater buttons, bracelet’s beads, and some old feathers.

The outcome was a very funky and crazy band that can be worn in various ways. So bear my insanity😋 with me, and start this crazy drive to find how this DIY band/ accessory can create different modes with your outfit.

What You Need

• Old Jeans (or any other denim piece)
• Shirt Buttons
• Crochet flower
• Fancy Buttons
• Beads
• Feathers
• Old Broken Clips
• Buckle
• Nail Paint
• Thread
• Needle
• Fabric Glue
• Elastic Cord
• Scissors

How To Make Easy DIY 3-IN-1 Fashion Accessory With Old Buttons And Jeans

STEP-1

Without a second thought, fetch your old jeans or any other denim piece, which you feel is old now and can be used for your new DIY. Cut two 3cmX 80cm long strips from it.

STEP-2

Now, it’s time to pull the threads. Yes… you need to pull the threads on both sides of each strip like the above image.

You can use tweezers but I did it with my fingers only. It gives a messy and funky look to the accessory. If you are a denim lover, then check out my post lengthen your short denim skirt. You may find this useful.

It will look like the above image. You can pull as many threads as you wish, but don’t make it much thin.

STEP-3

If you are done with the thread pulling part, now you have to make two holes on each side of one strip. You can use any needle or scissors to do it as it would not take much effort.

After piercing, take two 10 cm long elastic cord pieces. Insert one cord from the holes and knot it at the backside like the above image.

On the front, pull this loop outwards. Do the same on another side of the strip too. Line up your thread and needle as we need it now.

STEP-4

You don’t need perfection in sewing. Basic sewing or tucking is enough for this pattern. So, start tucking the buttons and beads from your treasure.

Firstly, I tucked my mom’s creation. She made this flower for one of my sweaters. Now the sweater is spoilt but this flower is always been in my collection.

STEP-5

Keep tucking and sewing your gems. In addition, I used yellow thread for sewing to give a funky and untidy look to my band.

I tucked some shirt buttons, my kid’s discarded dress’ buttons, and one paper quilled flower too.

Not only that, I enhanced it with a few pearls and beads which I got from my old jewelry box.

STEP-6

I’m sure you’re with me on this one, the more you have the old stuff…the more creative you are…haha. I had a bib buckle with me. So, I painted it with bright nail paint and tucked it too.

Including buttons, you can add some broken but beautiful parts of hair clips as I did.

STEP-7

Stay with me, and tuck two feathers on both the ends of the strip. For a finesse look, add pom-pom on the feathers.

When you are done with all the tucking and sewing parts, apply some fabric glue on the backside of the strip and attach the second strip with it. Press it firmly and let it dry.

Here it is! yes… your simple and pretty but funky and cool DIY 3-in-1 fashion accessory or we can say a DIY band is ready.

You can wear this as a wrist band. First, wear its first loop on the thumb, then wrap this band around the wrist and bring it to the elbow. After that, fasten the last end loop to the button closest to it. Or you can use it as a head band or a neck band to emboss your look. How… have a look at below images.
